The Family Justice Council is hosting the second Bridget Lindley Memorial Lecture on Tuesday 13 March, 5:30-7:30pm, in Birmingham.

This is the second of a series of annual lectures to commemorate the life and work of Bridget, who served with distinction as a member of the Family Justice Council and as the Family Rights Group’s Principal Legal Adviser and Deputy Chief Executive. 

The lecture will explore the impact of modern information and communication technology on family proceedings and press reporting of the family courts.

The event will be chaired by Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division and Chair of the Family Justice Council. The keynote speaker will be a specialist education and social affairs journalist Louise Tickle. A panel discussion and a Q&A session will follow the lecture. The panel will comprise:

  • Rt Hon Lady Justice King DBE, Lady Justice of Appeal; 

  • Andrew Pack, care lawyer for Brighton and Hove City Council and author of the Suesspicious Minds legal blog; 

  • John Simmonds, Director of Policy, Research and Development at CoramBAAF; and

  • two young people from National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS).
