Coodes Solicitors announces new partners and associate

Date:9 MAY 2010

Jonathan Eade Coodes Solicitors is thought to be the first law firm in Cornwall to recognise the efforts and contribution of a non-solicitor with a partnership appointment.

Jonathan Eade (pictured left) has been working in the Private Client department at Coodes in St Austell for 27 years. Until recently, legal firms were prevented from appointing anyone other than a solicitor as a partner in the firm.

Changes under the Legal Services Act 2007 mean that non-solicitor staff members who contribute a great deal to a firm can now be recognised at a senior level and rewarded with partnership.

Managing partner Jeremy Harvey said: "Jonathan has worked very hard for the firm over very many years and this is a well deserved appointment.

"For too long solicitors' firms have not been able to recognise properly the contribution that people like Jonathan make to their businesses."

The firm is also celebrating the appointment of family solicitor Lucy Theobald, who joins Coodes from Nalders Solicitors in Truro.
