Solicitors launches fixed prices and online legal services

Date:19 FEB 2010

South West firm Coodes Solicitors has launched a new website offering fixed price legal services.

Coodes Direct offers legal support across a range of areas plus a DIY Law Online service where customers can create their own legal documents.

While Coodes is presenting an industry first for the South West, the firm believes that buying and selling legal services through the internet will become more and more common in coming years.

Ian Taylor, Managing Partner at Coodes Solicitors, said: "Offering online legal products and fixed price fees is a new way of thinking for a regional firm such as Coodes.

"However we believe strongly this is the future of law - it enables us to be upfront and transparent about the costs of our services, as well as offer flexibility for customers to access our products wherever and whenever they choose.

"Some may see this as a controversial move, but customers can be assured that the quality of legal advice available through Coodes Direct will be just as high as if you walk into one of our branches," Mr Taylor added.

Coodes is also proud to announce that Cornish Olympic rower Ed Coode has returned to his roots by taking up a position at his family's law firm.

Bodmin-born Ed, aged 34, became a Cornish hero after winning gold in the coxless-fours at the 2004 Athens Olympics plus gold in the 1999 World Championships.

For the past four years he has been following in the family footsteps by training in law at University of the West of England and with Bristol firm Burges Salmon. He joins Coodes' Private Client team in the Liskeard office.
