The Welsh Government has launched a consultation on the proposed amendments to the Adoption Agencies (Wales) Regulations 2005 and the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (Wales) Regulations 2015.
The amendments include the easing of procedural requirements and timescales for stage 1 and stage 2 of the prospective adopter approval process and the extension of the period during which a person may receive temporary approval to act as a local authority foster parent. The Welsh Government wants to extend the regulations for a further six months until 30 September 2021. The consultation closes on 2 March 2021.
