In May 2006 the Government published a draft Legal Services Bill which will establish an independent oversight regulator - the Legal Services Board and an independent Office for Legal Complaints. The Legal Services Board (LSB) will ensure that front line regulators discharge their duties effectively. The Office for Legal Complaints (OLC) will, for the first time, remove the handling of legal complaints from the legal professions. See July [2006] Fam Law for more details.
