Increases in court fees for family proceedings came into force on 10 January 2006. The Civil Proceedings Fees Order for 2006 also came into force on the same day. The Family Proceedings Fees (Amendment No. 2) Order 2005 (SI 2005/3443), the Magistrates' Court Fees Order 2005 (SI 2005/3444) and the Civil Proceedings Fees (Amendment) Order 2005 (SI 2005/3445) can be viewed on http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si200534.htm. The only exception is that the fee for ancillary relief applications remains at £210. The Family Proceedings Courts fees were last increased in 1993 and are now harmonised with the county court fees, as increased. See March [2006] Fam Law 173 for the full news article.
