STEP, the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning, has appointed Mark Walley as its new Chief Executive, effective January 2019.

Walley will take over from George Hodgson, who announced earlier this year announced he plans to retire at the end of 2018. 

Walley (pictured below) joins STEP from his current role as Managing Director EMEA, at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). 

Prior to joining RICS in 2011, Walley was Director of Corporate Development for the ifs School of Finance, Previously, he was Regional Director EMEA for Cohen Brown Management Group. 

Walley started his career with Barclays where he spent 25 years, the latter part as Sales Director and then Chief Operating Officer of Barclays Wealth’s International Personal and Premier Banking Division. .

Chair of STEP’s Worldwide Board, Patricia Wass TEP, stressed that "Mark brings a wealth of experience in managing a major international organisation."
