Peter Jackson - 4 Paper BuildingsFollowing Mrs Justice Black elevation to the Court of Appeal, Peter Jackson QC has been appointed as a High Court Judge with effect from 1 October 2010.

Peter, 54, is a member of 4 Paper Buildings and was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1978 and took Silk in 2000. He practices in a range of non-financial family law areas including adoption, Children Act proceedings and wardship.

Chambers and Partners 2010 described Peter as a leading silk saying that he "wins virtually every case he touches."

Head of Chambers, Jonathan Cohen QC said: "We are all delighted by the news of the appointment. He is the pre-eminent children's lawyer at the Bar and his appointment is very well deserved. Our loss is the Family Division's gain."
