The President of the Family Division, Sir Nicholas Wall, has issued guidance reminding the legal profession that they should only contact a High Court judge of the Family Division on duty "out of hours" in absolutely "urgent" cases. "Urgent" should be taken to mean cases in which an order of the court is required to regulate the position between the moment the order is made and the next available sitting of the court in conventional court hours.
