Date:24 OCT 2007

David Merrigan, Barrister, Lamb Building. The recent case of North v North [2007] EWCA Civ 760, [2007] FLR (forthcoming) considers the impact of conduct on a spouse's application for an upward variation of a nominal maintenance order. In this article, David Merrigan looks at the position of the variation of nominal periodical payment orders pre-North and reviews the ramifications post-North. The article provides practitioners with guidance and a useful interpretative summary of four main principles from North. For the full article see November [2007] Fam Law.
