The UK Children’s Commissioner has published a series of reports which are to be submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and consider the COVID-19 pandemic. The Children’s Commissioners of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales has also been involved with the reports. They evaluate how the government and devolved administrations are progressing towards providing every child the opportunities and protections in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The report identifies emerging trends and key issues regarding the human rights of children in the UK. A further report is based on engagement with children and young people across all four nations with the aim to provide the Committee with voices about experiences on the delivery of their rights.
