In this article Shiva Ancliffe KC and Caroline Croft of Coram Chambers reflect on the aims, findings and recommendations of the Norgrove Review and the significant impact which the Norgrove Review has had on care proceedings. The article analyses the effect that the implemented recommendations of the Norgrove Review have had on care proceedings, whilst also considering the challenges facing public law proceedings and practitioners and how we might continue to draw on the recommendations of the Norgrove review to face and overcome the current challenges. The article also discusses some of the recommendations of the Norgrove Review which were not implemented at the time, but which are worth revisiting and might have a significant positive effect if they were to be implemented now.
