As you probably all know, I am on the brink of retirement, the identity of my successor being still unannounced. I have therefore been engaged in finally signing off and putting in place a number of matters in order to complete the programme which I introduced with the approval of the Lord Chief Justice and the Lord Chancellor in December 2006 as my Framework for a Family Court. I will, if I may, bring you up to date on those matters before turning to an important matter for the future, which will no doubt engage, if not embroil, my successor on his or her appointment, namely the recently announced Family Justice Review.
