The Law Society has issued guidance for solicitors and members of their staff offering or planning to offer semi-automated online legal services.

The ability to deliver legal services electronically and online with little or no human intervention is becoming increasingly common.

Practices introducing semi-automated online legal services face a number of regulatory and professional conduct challenges, which should be addressed at the design or procurement stage by undertaking comprehensive risk assessments.
