Rules Committee

Date:12 JAN 2007

In November 2006 the Family Procedure Rules Committee met to consider draft Family Procedure Rules relating to:

  • proceedings under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court in respect of children;
  • proceedings under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996; and
  • applications for the domestic enforcement of orders.

The committee also received further proposals to amend the Family Proceedings Rules relating to disclosure of information and arising out of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (due to come into force April 2007). The committee's experts working party met to continue development of a draft practice direction relating to the use of experts in family proceedings. The working party also welcomed the publication of the Chief Medical Officer's report Bearing Good Witness". See further February [2007] Fam Law.
