Relationship Breakdown Programme

Date:26 NOV 2007

The Ministry of Justice has announced a number of developments in the Relationship Breakdown Programme - a range of measures to help more separating parents reach agreement themselves about the future parenting arrangements for their children. Self-help guides are now available and there have been changes to the Children and Adoption Act 2006.

The free self-help guide, Parenting Plans - Putting your children first: A guide for separating parents, aims to provide an accessible guide for separating parents to work out the best possible contact and residence arrangements for their children. Practitioners are suggested to make the guides available to clients seeking family legal advice about parenting following divorce or separation.

Copies of the Parenting Plan can be ordered online from www.tsoshop.co.uk. The guide can also be downloaded from the CAFCASS website: http://www.cafcass.gov.uk/English/Publications/information/ParentingPlans.pdf.
