Public Law Outline update

The Care Proceedings Programme has published an update on the progress of the draft Public Law Outline. It is currently working towards implementation of two key recommendations. New statutory guidance for local authorities on making care applications to improve preparation for, and ensure care applications are only made once all alternatives have been explored will come into force in England and Wales in April 2008. Revised court procedures to improve case management during care proceedings will replace the existing Judicial Protocol, and will also come into force in April 2008.
