Mr Quentin Davies, now Labour, formerly Conservative, MP for Grantham and Stamford introduced in the House of Commons on 3 July 2007 a Private Members Bill to provide for the enforceability of pre-nuptial agreements and for 'connected purposes'. He stated that it was a 'purely permissive or enabling measure' and emphasised the 'voluntary aspect of the proposals'. The Bill was given a First Reading and the Second Reading is scheduled for 19 October. For further information see September [2007] Fam Law.
