PRACTICE DIRECTION: EXPERTS IN FAMILY PROCEEDINGS RELATING TO CHILDREN

This Practice Direction deals with the use of expert evidence and the instruction of experts in family proceedings relating to children, and comes into force on 1 April 2008. The guidance supersedes, for such proceedings, that contained in Appendix C (the Code of Guidance for Expert Witnesses in Family Proceedings) to the Protocol of June 2003 (Judicial Case Management in Public Law Children Act Cases) and in the Practice Direction to Part 17 (Experts) of the Family Procedure (Adoption) Rules 20051 (FP(AR) 2005") with effect on and from 1 April 2008.
