The facts in the combined cases of Miller and McFarlane [2006] UKHL 24; [2006] FLR (forthcoming) are already well known, the outcomes admirably covered in the articles by District Judge Glen Brasse (above) and Andrew Meehan at [2006] Fam Law 566. This article is therefore going to concentrate on what the authors believe to be the very serious practical problems thrown up by the speeches in the area of maintenance and periodical payments.
