Simon Bruce and Alfred Ip’s article 'Nimble evolution is the lifeblood of international family law' highlights the complexity of international family law, and the flexibility and nimbleness required of lawyers practicing in the area. Such complexities arise out of different rules pertaining to different jurisdictions, and the far-reaching effects and considerations of international family law. Concepts such as the treatment of same sex marriage, concept of parenthood, and financial remedies, etc, are discussed with reference to past situations handled by the authors, and landmark developments. While many may see the complexities as a challenge, Bruce and Ip argue that it allows family lawyers 'countless opportunities to provide clever and bespoke solutions for clients'.
