Between April 2013 and March 2014 Cafcass received a total of 46,607 new private law cases.

This figure shows an increase of 2% from the 45,605 cases received in the previous financial year.

New cases received during the first six months were 15% higher than the same period in the previous year and demand in April, May, June, July and August, was the highest ever recorded by Cafcass in those individual months.
