LSC Annual Report and family legal aid

Date:20 AUG 2007

The Legal Services Commission Annual Report for 2006/07 was published on 8 August 2007. Family legal aid saw a 2% reduction in the number of applications in 2006/07 but, as the LSC states in the report, the picture is complicated. Applications for representation in public law Children Act proceedings increased by 2%. Private law applications fell by 4%, despite a 2% increase in applications for representation in domestic violence proceedings. Applications for Help with Mediation fell by 6% and in family mediation 66% of closed cases had a successful outcome. For further information see October [2007] Fam Law.
