Linked care and placement order proceedings guidance

Date:16 APR 2007

The Children in Safeguarding Proceedings Committee of the Family Justice Council has recently issued guidance to the Local Family Justice Councils (which provide a local inter-disciplinary forum for discussion of issues affecting family court proceedings) about how to manage linked care and placement order proceedings. This clearly sets out that the court should strive to determine the placement order application at the same hearing as the care case and careful timetabling should ensure that unnecessary delay is avoided. The guidance Linked Care and Placement Order Proceedings can be found on the Family Justice Council website: http://www.family-justice-council.org.uk
