This article critically examines the implications of Re E (A Child) (Complex Fact Finding) [2025] EWFC 422 and challenges claims that the judgment reaffirms gender neutrality in domestic abuse adjudication. The article argues domestic abuse and child sexual abuse (CSA) are empirically gendered phenomena and calls for gender-neutral approaches overlook substantial evidence regarding patterns of victimisation and perpetration.
