Lessons from America? Learning from child protection policy in the USA [2006] CFLQ 43

This article examines some pertinent features of US child protection law, with the aim of considering what lessons can be learnt from those features, either with an eye to incorporating good elements into our domestic law or rejecting approaches which have proved to be ineffective or even damaging. In particular, consideration is given to the standard of proof in child abuse cases and to 'moral panics' stemming from child abuse scandals.
