Deirdre Fottrell QC and Sharon Segal provide a legal analysis of the ground-breaking surrogacy case of X v Z (Parental Order Adult) [2022] EWFC 26. This was the first case in which the Family Court considered an application for a parental order for an adult ‘child’ born of a surrogacy arrangement.
