Law Society highlights Family Fee Scheme for 2010 contracts

Date:14 DEC 2009

The Law Society is drawing practitioners' attention to the importance of the Family Fee Scheme recently announced by the Legal Services Commission covering the Family Advocacy and the Private Law Representation.

The Family Advocacy Scheme creates a single graduated fee scheme covering payments to both solicitor advocates and barristers for public and private family law cases.

The Private Law Representation Scheme will bring all private law, with some exceptions, within a standard fee regime.

The scheme is complex and the Law Society is advising practitioners to consider the LSC documents for details of the scheme and the relevant fees, which can be accessed by clicking here.
