King Fahd Case Continues

Date:19 MAY 2006

Following Harb v Aziz [2005] EWCA Civ 1324, [2006] FLR (forthcoming) Janan Harb, the former wife of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia (who died in August 1995), is apparently intending to take her case to the European Court of Human Rights. Her application for financial relief was dismissed by the Court of Appeal in November 2005. The Court of Appeal ruled that applications under s 27 of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 did not survive the death of a spouse. See July [2006] Fam Law for the full news article.
