A joint committee of the Houses of Commons and Lords published on 1 August its first report on the draft Human Tissue and Embryos Bill. In the short time available for its inquiry it has prioritised some issues over others. The report does not refer to matters relating to termination of pregnancy, presumed consent for organ donation or recent developments in adult stem cell research. A wide range of evidence informed the report and recommendations include a parliamentary bioethics committee and reform of the Human Tissue Act 2004.
