GMC appeals in Meadow case

Date:12 JUN 2006

It was announced in May 2006 that the Attorney General is to intervene in the appeal by the General Medical Council (GMC) against the High Court ruling that Professor Sir Roy Meadow should not have been struck off for giving mistaken evidence in the Sally Clark trial. The Attorney General will apparently support the GMC's right to take disciplinary action in such cases. For the details of the decision of Collins J in the Queen's Bench Division see [2006] Fam Law 354.
