Female Genital Mutilation: a Family Practitioner's Perspective - Family Law journal

The issue of female genital mutilation (FGM) may not cross the paths of family lawyers on a daily basis but we need to be aware of it so that we can help to minimise the level of risk sufficiently, be alive and sensitive to the issues with which the parents are grappling and ensure that the court has sufficient information before it to understand and adjudicate on the issues. This is particularly crucial in that there appear to be no reported family cases.
