Family law practitioners received prestigious accolades at the
esteemed LexisNexis Legal Awards, held on Thursday 14 March at the JW Marriott
Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane. The awards, renowned for celebrating excellence and
talent across the legal sector, recognise outstanding individuals and teams in
various legal domains, including the Bar, legal practice, in-house counsel,
academia, and legal journalism. With a focus on promoting, growing, and adding
value to the legal sector, the LexisNexis Legal Awards serve as a gathering of
over 400 professionals from diverse backgrounds within the legal community,
making it an indispensable event for networking and recognition within the
industry.
LexisNexis Legal Awards also
aim to underscore the importance of the rule of law, a foundational principle
that ensures equality, fairness, and justice within society. The rule of law
entails that all individuals and institutions are subject to and accountable
under the law, and no one is above it. It safeguards individual rights,

Two family law firms, The International Family Law Group and Expatriate Law, were shortlisted for the prestigious International Team of the Year award. This recognizes their exceptional contributions to handling complex international family law matters with expertise and proficiency.
Children in the Middle clinched the Legal Services Innovation award for their groundbreaking approach to delivering efficient and remote services to a targeted clientele. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, they provide seamless assistance while prioritising cost-effectiveness for their clients, revolutionizing the landscape of legal service delivery.
The esteemed Legal Personality of the Year title was bestowed upon Mani Singh Basi from 4PB, who emerged as a powerhouse in the legal community. With involvement in 31 published cases, notably addressing complex international family law disputes concerning vulnerable children, child abduction, and domestic abuse, Basi has demonstrated unwavering dedication to justice. Beyond his role as a barrister, he actively contributes to the family law justice system through legal commentary, authorship, and extensive outreach and mentoring efforts aimed at fostering diversity within the legal profession.
Duncan Lewis, renowned for their exceptional advocacy in asylum cases and provision of crucial legal aid services, was honoured as the Law Firm of the Year. Their distinction as one of the UK's foremost civil legal aid providers underscores their commitment to excellence and social justice.
Unit Chambers clinched the Chambers of the Year award, reflecting their distinguished reputation as a regional set specializing in various legal areas. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion remains a cornerstone of their ethos, further highlighting their dedication to excellence and inclusivity within the legal profession.
