Family Law launches redesigned website

Date:18 APR 2010

New website screen shot

Family Law is pleased to announce the launch of its redesigned Newswatch website. After consulting family lawyers on what news service they would find beneficial and testing new content and features, we can finally reveal our new familylaw.co.uk website.

This is the family law community's website, it's here for you to publish your announcements, report your cases or arrange a night out through our new social network groups.

Newswatch will still keep you up to date with the latest family law news, cases, legislation, announcements and other content you have become familiar with, but will now also incorporate new content and features.

The first difference you may have noticed is that Newswatch has been promoted from being a sub-website of familylaw.co.uk and is now integrated into the main Family Law domain.

A new Opinion section will contain exclusive content written for Family Law by our new team of Newswatch columnists: Sandra Davis, Penny Booth, Andrew Woolley, and Chris Barton.

Sandra Davis is a Partner and Head of Family at leading city firm Mishcon de Reya. Sandra will be writing about her take on family law issues and what's happened during her week.

Penny Booth is an Honorary Research Fellow at Liverpool University Centre for the Study of the Child, the Family and the Law. She will be commenting on the more ethical issues in family law.

Andrew Woolley is the Senior Partner of Woolley & Co solicitors which he set up in 1996 as the world's first 'virtual' law firm with no traditional offices but a network of home based lawyers. Andrew and the Woolley & Co solicitors will write about practice management and the issues they come across in their firm.

Professor Chris Barton is a retired Family Law Teacher and Vice-President of the Family Mediators Association. Chris is a regular contributor to the Family Law journal and will be voicing his light-hearted satirical take on family issues in a weekly sketch.

Important figures within family law will feature in a new Interviews section, where we have published two new interviews for launch with the outgoing President of the Family Division Sir Mark Potter and the new Chair of Resolution David Allison.

You can keep up to the minute with the latest articles published on Newswatch by subscribing to our new RSS feeds which will allow you to read the latest developments on your desktop as soon as they are added to our website.

The new website is designed to provide easier site navigation and incorporates cross-links between related content. Over time  you will be able to explore the background issues to news stories or read about the earlier decisions to appealed cases.

The new Family Law Calendar will contain important dates for family lawyers including conferences, events and social occasions. Please send any dates you would like us to include in the calendar to information@familylaw.co.uk.

Family Law will continue to roll out new developments in the months ahead, so please send us your feedback to suggest any improvements.

We hope you enjoy the new website.
