Family Court Centre

Date:5 MAY 2006

The consultation paper, Barnet County Court and Specialist Family Centre Pilot, was published on 20 June 2005 by the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) inviting comments on establishing a specialist family centre now called the Family Courts Centre. It proposed doing so by permanently transferring to Barnet County Court the court sittings and administration first from Barnet Family Proceedings Court (FPC) and then from Enfield and Haringey FPCs. The DCA has now published a report summarising the responses which generally expressed support for the pilot. See June [2006] Fam Law 472 for the full news article.
