Effective government structures for children? The UK's four Children's Commissioners [2005] CFLQ 37

Legislation has been passed establishing separate Children's Commissioners for Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. There are differences in the respective Commissioners' ability to carry out individual case-work and in the role the Commissioners have in relation to implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989 (UNCRC). This article considers the significance of these differences for children and for implementation of the UNCRC in the UK.
