A new process of administratively de-linking financial proceedings from divorce proceedings will be rolled out across England and Wales on 19 June 2017, the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary has confirmed. The decision was taken following a successful pilot in the south-west region.

On 27 April 2017, HM Courts & Tribunals Service announced plans to conduct a pilot in the South West Regional Divorce Centre in Southampton to administratively de-link financial proceedings from divorce proceedings. The aim was to introduce improvements to how financial applications are dealt with.
