CSA to go - allegedly

According to The Times of 1 June 2006 the Child Support Agency (CSA) will be abandoned in the summer of 2006 and replaced with a pared-down operation which will collect money only from absent fathers who refuse to pay maintenance. According to the report, in future separating parents will be able to determine their own financial arrangements with the help of national guidelines on appropriate levels of child maintenance. Cash incentives might even be offered to couples for staying away from the new agency which will only track and enforce payments in the most complex cases.
