Coronavirus guidance for local authorities on children’s social care

On 3 April 2020, the government published the Coronavirus (Covid-19): guidance for local authorities on children’s social care. The document identifies important principles which should guide local authority decision making during the current public health crisis. This article summarises the key principles, highlights some of the significant changes to local authority practice which are envisaged as well as exploring the challenges ahead.
