Children urged to complete survey about child protection

Date:20 JUL 2010

The Children's Commissioner, Maggie Atkinson, is calling on children practitioners to encourage young people they know to feed their views into the Government's review of child protection.

The Government has invited Eileen Munro to conduct an independent review of child protection services to ensure they meet children's needs.

Eileen Munro has asked the Children's Commissioner to collect the views of children and young people who have experience of child protection services. The Review is particularly interested in finding out about what children have found helpful and what needs to be improved.

Maggie Atkinson said: "The Munro Review is keen to hear from as many children and young people as possible about this important matter. Please support them in completing this survey."

Social care, youth and education professionals can direct children and young people to complete a short confidential survey on the Children's Commissioner's website.
