Children's views shape policies for future decision making

On the eve of the transfer of the Office of the Children's Rights Director from the Commission for Social Care Inspection to Ofsted (as of 1 April 2007), the Children's Rights Director has published Policy by Children: A Children's Views Report which covers a very broad range of childrens care issues and suggests 107 policies emerging from consultations with children over the past three years. The report is intended to influence future decision making that affects children and covers issues from adoption, foster care and care standards to the sharing of confidential information, making decisions for children and children's rights and responsibilities.
