Children and Adoption Act 2006: new provisions

New provisions of Children and Adoption Act 2006 to be implemented on 8 December.

New measures contained in the Children and Adoption Act 2006 to give courts increased powers to resolve child contact disputes and enforce contact orders will be implemented on 8 December 2008.

Following a consultation during September and October 2008 the Legal Services Commission has amended the Funding Code Decision-Making Guidance to reflect the implementation of the Act.

The new amended guidance includes provisions relating to the funding of:

  • contact activities;
  • risk assessments;
  • child contact centre fees.
