Child support - looking to the future

Date:4 APR 2006

Nick Wikeley, School of Law, University of Southampton. Last year, Stephen Geraghty, the incoming Chief Executive of the Child Support Agency (CSA), conducted a root and branch review of the CSA's activities. Nick Wikeley says as we saw last month, the results of that review were not entirely to the liking of John Hutton MP, the Secretary of State (Nick Wikeley, Child Support Back to the drawing board? [2006] Fam Law 312). The government's response was to charge Sir David Henshaw with the task of redesigning the child support system. This article sketches out some of the issues which the Henshaw Report will have to deal with. See May [2006] Fam Law 360 for the full article.
