Elizabeth Hall, CAFCASS Regional Director. The new CAFCASS Safeguarding Framework, which came into effect in April 2007, has the concept of safeguarding, which is central to the Every Child Matters Agenda, at its core. The Framework draws into one place a range of previous policies (child protection; domestic violence; information sharing) and introduces some new arrangements. It also takes account of changes to legislation. Elizabeth Hall talks through the new provisions of the Framework in detail and explains the three-fold approach to risk assessment. The Framework is available on www.cafcass.gov.uk/English/Publications/policies/07Apr30CafcassSafeguardingFramework.pdf
