Yorkshire firm Taylor & Emmet merge with Hallam Mediation

Sheffield solicitors, Taylor & Emmet LLP, has signed a formal merger agreement that will see it become one of the largest providers of family law services in Yorkshire.

Taylor & Emmet is joining forces with Hallam Mediation, an independent firm of specialist mediators serving Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Wakefield and Leeds.

Marilyn Cumberland of Hallam Mediation is to become a partner at Taylor & Emmet. She and her staff will to continue to operate under the existing brand, as a trading division of the firm.

Head of family law, Michaela Heathcote (pictured), will be responsible for managing the integration and future growth of Taylor & Emmet's mediation services, enhancing the experience and expertise of her existing department. The firm is already one of the region's largest family law teams, advising clients on a wide range of marital issues, from pre-nuptial agreements and financial settlements to disputes relating to children.

Taylor & Emmet's merger with Hallam Mediation is part of a wider strategy of growth for the firm.
