This article is based on the keynote address by Lord Justice Munby (as he then was) to Jordan's 25th Family Law Conference held at the London Hilton in October 2012. Now the President of the Family Division, he describes here the major changes which family law has undergone during the past 25 years and considers where family law might be in 25 years' time, while not ignoring important issues of the moment such as same-sex marriage and divorce law reform.
