International Family Law Group book launch

Date:30 MAR 2012

International Family Law Practice by David Hodson

His Honour Judge Donald Cryan, Tim Scott QC and David HodsonFamily Law practitioners gathered in the Savoy Place in London on Wednesday evening for the launch of David Hodson's The International Family Law Practice  and When Cupid's Arrow Crosses National Boundaries which was co-written with Ann Thomas.

The event also marked the 5 birthday of The International Family Law Group LLP set up by Ann Thomas and David Hodson. The firm, which originally comprised of 4 members, was set up in 2007 to provide specialist family law services for international, as well as national clients and their children. The firm has grown substantially in a very short space of time and now boasts a 24 strong team with some of the country's leading finance and children lawyers.

As a consequence of the increased mobility of families between different countries, family lawyers are now frequently faced with international issues arising in their cases. A Practical Guide to International Family Law, known as "The Grey Book", builds on the success of David Hodson's previous title to provide comprehensive coverage of the international elements of English law. It has also been expanded to include all relevant source material and is an indispensable guide for solicitors, barristers and the judiciary to this rapidly expanding area of law and practice.

When Cupid's Arrow Crosses National Boundaries: a guide for international families was written by David Hodson and Ann Thomas, Partners at International Family Law Group LLP.  The straight forward guide is an essential companion for international families and those working abroad who form romantic relationships. It guides the reader through the complex area of international family law and deals with practical issues during relationships.

Lucy Loizou who is an Associate Solicitor at iFLG who attended the party said: "One of the benefits of working at the International Family Law Group and dealing with foreign lawyers on a daily basis is that one gets a real sense of what is happening globally within family law. This helps us provide a better service and also allows us to obtain a greater understanding of the needs of our international clients".
