NCVCCO awarded new government funding

National Council of Voluntary Child Care Organisations (NCVCCO) has been awarded new government funding.

NCVCCO's application to the Government's Children, Young People and Families Grant Programme has been successful and that the organisation will receive a strategic grant of £2,684,000 in the three-year period between 2008-2009 and 2010-2011.

The grant will enable NCVCCO to further develop the provision of high quality infrastructure support for the children, young people and families voluntary and community sector, building their capacity to represent the voice of service users, improve service quality and make a full contribution to strategic planning at local, regional and national levels. As a result of the funding decision, NCVCCO will be working to extend representation, especially for smaller voluntary and community sector children's organisations, and assisting the sector to play its part in the delivery of the Government's Children's Plan. Funds will also be used to strengthen governance and accountability, extend regional support networks and provide comprehensive information and advice, including on workforce development.
