Family Rights Group conference

The Family Rights Group charity is hosting an international conference with key partners, including 1 Garden Court Family Chambers, bringing together families, key policy makers, academics and practitioners in children's social care, child care law, the youth justice and education fields. The conference, entitled 'Family-centred solutions - changing child welfare policy and practice on the ground', is taking place on the 17-18 September 2008 at The Holiday Inn, Stratford-Upon-Avon, England.

As well as hearing the experiences of service users and practitioners, delegates at the conference will examine the principles and values that under-pin family-centred approaches.

Delegates will be able to consider the national and international evidence on whether such approaches work in enabling more children to live safely within their families as well as exploring family-centred models, including family group conferences, mediation and advocacy within the context of the Public Law Outline.
