Karen Henderson's lawyers have lodged an appeal to overturn her conviction of the manslaughter of baby Maeve Sheppard.
Karen Henderson was convicted in November 2007 of shaking the 11-month old baby to death. Two jurors from the trial have since come out and stated that they believe she is innocent and a miscarriage of justice has occurred.
Lawyers are expected to challenge the scientific expert evidence.
BBC 1 will screen a programme about the case on Panorama tonight.
